Why to maintain a healthy prostate

The most terrifying thing that can happen to a man is that his sexual organs stop working as well as they are supposed to. Usually the very first thing that starts to bother men, at the late thirties are urinating problems which just keep on amplifying. At some point a small number of men seem to be running to the toilet every ten minutes to see if they can get anything out. A few drops come and they are happy because they do no longer feel that constant pressure in their bladder, untli a few minutes go by.

This all happens because the prostate grows too large due to the effect of two hormones - testosterone and dihydrotestosterone. The latter is actually a derivate of the first one, which transforms in to DHT in the prostate gland. DHT is a very powerful androgen, which means that it has a great effect on the tissues functions and its growth. It is very much more powerful than testosterone, and that is why it causes the prostate gland to grow and during time it will start to cause problems.

The reason for the prostate to cause theses problems is in its location. It is located right under the bladder and it is wrapped around the urethra. There is not much space around it, so when it grows it starts pushing the urethra until it collapses. At first someone who is suffering from this is able to just apply more pressure in his abdomen to make the urine come out - these are the first symptoms; weakened urine flow.  If you notice that you need to do more work to empty your bladder, it is a good idea to go see a doctor to get checked. If your benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) is noticed at an early stage, it can be stopped before it results in serious problems. When it is too late, the only way to treat it is to remove it.

There are products that are called prostate formulas that are designed to promote the health of the prostate, and at the same time prevent its growth. They usually contain ingredients like beta-sitosterol, which has been shown to decrease the amount of testosterone that is converted in to DHT, and this way it prevents the prostate from growing too much. Also there are ingredients that prevent inflammation and this way they work against prostatitis, which is simply inflammation of the prostate. This also can cause similar symptoms as BPH but there are also flu like symptoms included.
